Solar Thermal Case Study - Rotherham College.
True Energy recently completed the
design and installation of a Solar Hot
Water System for Rotherham College
in South Yorkshire.
As part of the college’s ongoing drive to
maximise energy efficiency and reduce their “Carbon Footprint” True Energy was commissioned to install a solar thermal system
so as to engage and enthuse the
students, staff and visitors.
Twelve 2m2 solar hot water collectors were
mounted on a custom made support frame
on to the flat roof of Rotherham College.
The frames are held in place by concrete
weights. Heat is transferred from the solar
collectors to the Domestic Hot Water (DHW)
system through a closed glycol loop. This
minimises corrosion throughout the system
and ensures the long life of the system.
True Energy has installed solar thermal
systems for a wide variety of clients
throughout the UK, including Ashton Fire
Station, part of Greater Manchester Fire
Service and New College Durham.
True Energy actively supports the introduction
of low and zero emission energy sources to
combat the impact of global climate change.
The team has more than 20 years’
experience in renewable energy technology
and solutions, and can advise on all aspects
of sustainable energy from feasibility studies
through to turnkey project delivery.
