Solar Powered Street Lights Case Study - Burnham Park MUGA

True Energy recently installed Solar Powered Street Lights at a Multi Use Games Area for Burnham Parish Council, Buckinghamshire

muga 1 Many parish councils have created expensive Multi Use Games Areas (MUGA’s) only to find them scarcely used during the winter nights.

As a leader in the renewable energy field, True Energy was contacted by Burnham Parish Council and Salford City Council to help solve this.

Community police and council officers welcomed the initiative to light youth areas.

True Energy’s ‘Solar Wind Street Lights’ can create a “moths to a light” scenario. Young people are attracted to the welcoming warm light and gather in the area. The young people are entertained thus less likely to be drawn into Anti Social Behaviour.

muga2The True Solar Wind Street Lights can be time controlled to come on at dusk and turn off at 10pm. True lights offer safety and security with little light spill into residential properties.

Different light ‘qualities’ are available. Which include a welcoming warm glow; white light where required and an intense white light from spotlights. Spotlighting is particularly effective when used in combination with Passive Infra Red motion detectors to light dark footpaths.

Solar and wind powered lighting by True Energy is quick, easy and inexpensive to install and virtually free to run!
