Bright Light Solar is the sister company of True Energy. Bright Light Solar was created to help meet the need of renewable energy in the overseas market. Bright Light Solar’s renewable technologies include the following off grid solutions; Solar Street Lights, Solar Vaccine Refrigerators, Solar Power Packs and Solar Powered Water Pumps. 

Bright Light Solar has a wealth of experience in delivering complete 360 degree off grid solutions within countries such as Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, India and Europe where running mains electricity is expensive or impractical.  

Bright Light Solar agree with ‘SELF’ in that “Energy Is a Human Right” as we have delivered many projects to UNICEF to Nigerian people who are often energy poor and looking for sustainable energy which can help develop their country and ultimately give them the ‘human right’ to a sustainable secure future.    

Bright Light Solar recently sealed a contract with UNICEF to supply Solar Powered Water pumps to 25 villages in Djibouti, east Africa. An area in Nigeria which lacks the modern energy sources needed for improvements in health, education, transportation and commercial developments there is very little power available and what supply there is tends to be unreliable.

Bright Light Solar provided a bespoke solution, 25 Solar Powered Water Pumps has enabled the villages in Dijibouti clean, fresh water for the first time.

As well as designing the pumping system, Bright Light Solar installed the project and provided training so that the villagers can maintain it themselves.

“…many earlier water-pumping projects …relied on complicated, diesel-run generators. If diesel became too expensive, or was unavailable, the pumping project failed…The solar-powered system comes with a 25-year guarantee, and is also extremely easy to maintain, thus ….women and children will no longer spend hours each day fetching and carrying water…. Carrying such heavy loads caused back problems, and the water collected from available sources was contaminated, and waterborne diseases were rampant.” Explains Ian Tansley, Technical Director. 

In conjunction with our Partners Iceberg PVPS, Bright Light Solar Ltd designed and delivered Solar Powered Vaccine Refrigeration and general power systems for the local hospital in Abuja, Nigeria 
 
Prior to implementation of the project, electric was supplied by NEPA (a utility company) and had proved to be unreliable, infrequent and expensive. Doctors and nurses were unable to perform any operations at night as the power supply would fail. The lack of reliable power supply also meant that blood and vaccine supplies could not be stored safely at the hospital. 

Bright Light Solar has developed a Solar Vaccine refrigerator that conforms to the World Health Organisation specifications. Together with our Solar Power Packs, Bright Light Solar has helped Abuja and many other developing worlds’ have power in schools, hospitals, homes and many other places. 

Bright Light Solar understands that reliable power is especially important when it is being used to supply critical telecommunications equipment. Our client needed a dependable source of power to supply GSM network equipment on a building in central Lagos. The equipment was to be deployed in order to handle the growing volume of mobile phone calls in the area. 

Working in conjunction with our partner Rubitec in Lagos, Nigeria Bright Light Solar delivered a Solar Power Pack that runs independently of the mains power supply, and generates all the power required to run the system 24/7. 

Bright Light Solar has also installed many off grid Solar Powered Street Lights in Jalingo, Lafia Benin and many other places throughout Nigeria. Bright Light Solar has built up a strong reputation overseas and in many developing countries. Bright Light Solar has brought light where often there has been no facility available for lighting previously to many areas that face complete blackouts at night. Local people are now able to continue trading in the evenings with the recently acquired illumination, which also provides security to populations and has often helped to reduce crime.
